technical specification
CMS is a Microsoft.NET application,
running on standard Microsoft Windows infrastructure. The recommended minimum
server specification for the software is detailed below. Note it can be shared
with other applications, and is not particularly resource intensive
- Pentium 4
- minimum memory requirement: 1GB RAM
- Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition
- MS SQL Server 2005 (or Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine 2000 for Desktop
Installations)
- MS.NET Framework 2.0
- disk requirement is for 400MB of space which allows for the application,
empty database and all the reports to be deployed. A general rule is that the
database will grow approximately 150KB with each Audit completed. Hence if you
have 1000 Audits in the database, you can expect the database to be 150MB in
size.
The recommended entry level handheld device specification (e.g. Dell X51v
624Mhz device) for the solution is:
- Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system
- 400 MHz processor
- 64 MB RAM
Microsoft® Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later is recommended. CMS
also supports Netscape version 8.0 or later. Due to Netscape 8.0 security
controls, some areas of the CMS may open in new browser tabs and not function
properly. To prevent specific CMS pages from opening in new browser tabs,
right-click on the new browser tab, and select Show Site Controls | I Trust
This Site. Regardless of which browser you use, popups must be allowed.
security
Security is addressed by the allocation of unique
usernames and passwords, as well as the allocation of user roles that permit
privileges to be assigned. Other security measures include:
- SSL Certificate to support 128-bit encryption when passing the user logon
details to the CMS (not included in the price)
- required alphanumeric passwords greater than seven characters
- means to enforce users to change their passwords at specified intervals.
- if users attempt to type in URLs rather than use the appropriate links they
are logged out
- time out every 15 minutes during a user session if there is no activity
- the data that is sync-ed between PDA and Server is encrypted
